About HED Wheels:
PRIVATELY OWNED. MINNESOTA MADE. PASSIONATELY DEDICATED TO MAKING THE BEST, FASTEST CYCLING COMPONENTS ON EARTH.
Hed Cycling Products is a manufacturer of premium quality bicycle wheels and components. Based in Roseville, MN, Hed prides itself on being US-operated, and with most manufacturing and assembling done in their own US factory. Founded in the mid-1980's by Steve and Anne Hed, the company continues to embody his design philosophy even after his tragic passing in 2014. Known as True Speed, this mantra encapsulates a theme of bringing every rider the best possible, most reliable, fastest, and most well-rounded cycling products.
Steve’s legacy lives on, and the company is now run by Steve’s wife, Anne, in an all-new Minnesota factory. In 2014, Anne was awarded the Established Business Owner of the Year for Minnesota, by the National Association of Women Business Owners. More recently, Hed was a winner of the 2016 FedEx Small Business Grant, and was nominated for the 2016 Deubener Award and Forbes Small Giants. An extensive article about Anne and Hed Cycling can be found at Forbes online.
In addition to making their own wheels and components, Hed is a world-renowned contract manufacturer. In 2016, Cérvelo Cycles introduced their groundbreaking P5X triathlon bike, exclusively manufactured by Hed in their Minnesota factory.
Hed sponsors and participates in benefit events including: I Can Shine Bike Camp for Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota, FB4K (Free Bikes for Kids), UHCCF Children’s Foundation Century Ride, Greg Lemond CEO Ride for Special Olympics, Parenting With a Purpose, NPH USA 5K for an orphanage in Honduras, Pablove Foundation for Children’s Cancer, Bicycle Art Exhibition Benefit at Spye, Minnesota Lyme Association, Concordia Academy School in Roseville for school expansion, Break Away Kids Triathlon in Lake Elmo.
In addition, Hed sponsors many bicycle/triathlon events and athletes as a part of their commitment to support the industry and sport, including the Northstar Development Cycling Team for Jr. High through college age kids, and the Minneapolis-based Team Rally Pro Cycling.
